Langley for Families Gives Big Hearted Donation to Support Literacy Program
Langley for Families Foundation donated $5,000 to Literacy for Life in support of their literacy services designed to help community members function more effectively. The donation will help over 750 adults to gain life-changing skills necessary as they strive toward independence and new opportunities. For nearly 40 years, Literacy for Life is one of the only organizations in Hampton Roads that provides individualized, one-to-one and small group tutoring for adults in reading, writing and math skills as well as instruction in English.
“Literacy for Life improves lives by teaching adults the literacy skills required for self-sufficiency, better health, and meaningful participation in society. Langley for Families’ gift of $5,000 helps our learners find better jobs, earn their GEDs, actively participate in their children’s education and become more involved in our community.”
