Langley Hosts Virtual Food Drive for COVID-19 Relief

The hard-working team at Langley Federal Credit Union is running an internal virtual food drive to help members of our Hampton Roads community in these truly difficult times. In partnership with the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank, employees are making monetary donations which, in turn, purchase food supplies for the Foodbank. 

CHIP Team Shares Their Thanks for Day of Service

Representatives from Children’s Health Investment Program (CHIP) visited Collections Manager Alonda Suber, who led 22 volunteers during our Day of Service to revamp the reception area and bathroom at their administrative office.

Langley Employees Select End-of-Year Donation Recipients

Langley Federal Credit Union employees nominated local non-profit agencies for their annual “Make a Difference Donations.” These donations are comprised of employee payroll deduction gifts and Langley’s matching funds to the Langley for Families Foundation. At the end of 2019, a total of $92,000 was donated to 28 employee-nominated organizations. Langley for Families Foundation: 2019 Year in Review

In 2019, Langley for Families Foundation celebrated a substantial increase in dollars donated - $662,563 to 81 organizations. Nonprofit grantees provide valuable community services throughout Hampton Roads – from Williamsburg and Gloucester to Suffolk and Virginia Beach. 

Habitat for Humanity Celebrates Three New Homes

On December 17, 2019, Habitat for Humanity celebrated ribbon cuttings for three new homes in Hampton, VA for deserving families just before the holiday season. Langley for Families was a proud supporter of The Harris Family, who purchased one of the new homes.

Langley Employees Support 94.9 The Point's Radiothon for CHKD

Over a dozen Langley employees reported to CHKD's lobby on November 6-8 instead of their offices to volunteer their time manning the phone banks for 94.9 The Point's 18th Annual Radiothon. The long-standing tradition raises thousands of dollars for Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters. 

Langley Employees Make Strides Against Breast Cancer

On Saturday, October 25, 20 Langley employees and friends joined together in the fight against breast cancer at American Cancer Society’s Making Strides of Hampton Roads at Mount Trashmore. Nearly 5,500 Hampton Roads community members showed up to walk in support of the cause in Virginia Beach.

Deaths from breast cancer have been reduced by 40% in the last three decades because of advancements in research and technology. Langley was proud to be a sponsor supporting all survivors and fighters for this event.

2018 Year in Review

In 2018, the Langley for Families Foundation is proud to have donated to 75 organizations in the Hampton Roads Community. These donations were made possible through successful fundraising events and community initiatives, with the majority of funds generated through the Langley for Families Charity Golf Classic, held in September.

Millions of people have come together to support and champion the causes they believe in and the communities in which they live. Langley For Families is proud to be a part of this Global Day of Giving on #GivingTuesday and we challenge YOU to get involved!

Langley for Families Foundation Q2 Giving

Langley for Families Foundation has awarded over $136,000 so far in 2018 to 20 different organizations. Among many others, the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore received $13,000 to support their efforts to eliminate hunger in our community. Specifically, Langley chose to support the BackPack and Mobile Pantry programs- which both serve hard-to-reach segments of the population. 

Foundation Awards $5,000 Grant for Emergency Shelter

Langley for Families Foundation awarded $5,000 to ForKids, Inc. for their Regional Emergency Shelter for Homeless Families program. The donation will help the organization continue to provide safe shelter and basic needs for homeless children and their families in Greater Hampton Roads.

Breakfast of Champions Raises Over $2,800
