In 2018, the Langley for Families Foundation is proud to have donated to 75 organizations in the Hampton Roads Community. These donations were made possible through successful fundraising events and community initiatives, with the majority of funds generated through the Langley for Families Charity Golf Classic, held in September.

Highlights from the Foundation’s 2018 community impact include:

  •  The Langley for Families Holiday Food & Fund Drive generated over $3,500 and 2,000lbs of food to combat hunger in the Hampton Roads region.
  • The Langley for Families Payroll Deduction Program raised $41,425. With a dollar-for-dollar match from Langley Federal Credit Union, $83,000 was donated to 32 employee-recommended nonprofit organizations.
  •  In addition to the wide variety of programs that Langley supports at the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughter, $15,000 was donated from the Langley for Families Foundation to specifically support the mental health program, aimed at bringing excellence, innovation, accessibility and hope to mental health care and empowering every member of our community to assist our children with overcoming today’s unprecedented mental health crisis.

“Langley Federal Credit Union and Langley for Families philanthropic support provided new mothers’ custom swaddles sized specially for their premature babies, built a Pulmonary Function Test room for our cystic fibrosis patients, supplied arts and crafts to bring out the superhero in children playing in our hospital playrooms and offered comfort to families whose children are struggling with mental health diagnoses,” said Lauren Kiger, Director of Corporate Relations at CHKD. “Philanthropic leaders like Langley ensure that children remain kids when they are hospitalized and allows CHKD to care for every child in our community, regardless of their family’s ability to pay. More than that, Langley’s employees donate their time and talents to the hospital volunteer program, events like Radiothon and advisory boards. On behalf of our patients and their families, doctors, nurses and staff – thank you. We are proud to partner with Langley Federal Credit Union for life!”
